In a fiery post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump lashed out at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, accusing him of “political extortion” for allegedly demanding over $1 billion in exchange for confirming a small number of Republican nominees.
“Senator Cryin’ Chuck Schumer is demanding over one billion dollars in order to approve a small number of our highly qualified nominees,” Trump wrote, adding, “This is political extortion, by any other name.”

Trump’s Message to Republicans
Trump urged Republican senators to reject any such negotiation, saying:
“Tell him to go to hell. Go home and explain to your constituents what bad people the Democrats are, and what a great job the Republicans are doing.”
He also claimed Schumer is “under tremendous political pressure from within his own party,” referring to them as “the radical left Democrats.”
Context
The accusations come amid growing partisan tension in Washington over stalled nominations and federal spending priorities. The White House has struggled to get several key appointments confirmed as Democrats and Republicans remain locked in political standoffs.
